UIDAI lets customers of Aadhaar cardsto change their address without needing documentation. Aadhaar cardholders can change their address if they don't have the proof of identity.
New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily stopped an important feature that allows you to change the address of your Aadhaar card's address, without certificate of address.
UIDAI allows people with Aadhaar cards to change their address without needing documentation. Aadhaar card holders are able to update their address, as long as they accept the authenticity by the verifier of their address. An address verifier could be a family member, friend or landlord that will allow the Aadhaar card holder to utilize their address for proof.
UIDAI has now stopped this feature. UIDAI replied to an Aadhaar Card Holder via tweets that updating address on the Aadhaar Card through the Address Validation Letter is no longer available. UIDAI has asked for the Aadhaar issuer to notify the user that they have the option to update their address by using another authentic PoA document.
Dear Residents Attention: The service for the Address Validation Letter service has been suspended until the next notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
